A bridge in Pittsburgh, the second largest city in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania, has collapsed.
Ambulance crews are on the ground. Police said the bridge collapsed around 6 p.m. In the photo from the scene is seen a suburban bus in the part of the collapsed bridge.
On its twitter account, Pittsburgh City Public Safety announced that there is currently no information on injuries. It was also reported that the air smelled of gas.
Houses nearby were evacuated and authorities urged drivers to avoid the area.
The collapse comes just hours before US President Joe Biden visits the city of Pittsburgh to discuss funding for infrastructure projects, including bridge maintenance.
