Armed with a Kalashnikov and 200 rounds of ammunition, a Ukrainian National Guard soldier opened fire on a local military compound, killing five people, including four soldiers and a civilian.
The latter worked as a guard at the ammunition factory in the Dnieper. The Ukrainian Interior Ministry stated that the reasons for this deadly attack have not been clarified yet. The soldier was arrested shortly after by police.
The incident happened in the early hours of the morning, at the time when the guards were handing out their weapons. Among the injured is a woman.
Investigative teams reported that the soldier Artern Ryabchuk who carried out the attack was born in 2001. Ukrainian authorities said that the young man was not under surveillance, as he had not shown mental problems. Ryabchuk had only three months in service.
