The US Embassy in Tirana this Wednesday distributed the message of the US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken for Ukraine.
Blinken says Russia has been given two options, that of diplomacy and dialogue and the aggression of the massive consequences that have been built up.
“We have given Russia two options. It is the path of diplomacy and dialogue…, but it is also the path of its repeated aggression and the massive consequences that we have built now for many weeks. And we are not the only ones saying this. The G7, the world’s leading democratic economies, have been clear on this. The European Union has been clear about this. “NATO has been clear about this,” Blinken said, as fears of war have grown significantly.
“US President Joe Biden, European leaders and NATO stand united in their warning to Moscow that a Russian attack on Ukraine would provoke a harsh response.” said on Monday NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.
Some 8,500 US troops have been put on high alert in the US if NATO activates its Response Force or if the security situation in Europe deteriorates further, the Pentagon has said.
NATO allies have put forces on alert and sent warships and fighter jets to strengthen Eastern Europe’s defenses as tensions rise over Russia’s military rise near Ukraine.
