This daring diver puts his hand in the shark’s mouth to rescue or relieve them.
She is Cristina Zenato, known worldwide as the ‘friend of the sharks’ for her work and love for wild marine mammals.
In an incredible video, Cristina and her diving colleagues are seen in the blue waters of the Bahamas sea surrounded by sharks.
She fearlessly extends her hand inside their mouth to pull out the remaining grunt.
Even the sharks look relaxed next to her, without being disturbed as she reaches down to their throats.
The brave diver uses the technique of rubbing the “Lorenzini ampoules” to carry out her rescue mission, which is to rub the shark’s nose and mouth pores to bring the animal into a state of relaxation, almost meditation.
This causes the shark to enter a state of almost unconscious natural paralysis, for about 15 minutes.
“In my daily work I am always removing the hooks from the sharks’ mouths,” says Ms. Zenato.
She adds that the case in the video was more difficult than usual. After placing the shark in tonic condition and had to remove the hook from deep inside his mouth.
Cristina has over 20 years of experience working with sharks and her talent has been seen in documentaries and films around the world, including the BBC and Nat Geographic networks.
She already runs the Underwater Explorers Association (UNEXSO) on the island of Grand Bahamas.
