The court of Durrës has imposed the security measure of obligation to appear for the three persons arrested in connection with the cryptocurrency laboratory that was discovered in Shijak and Fllakë.
It is learned that the judge of the case, Flora Hasimi, considered as insufficient the evidence to keep Rramush Dumani, Liserxhoi Xhaferraj and Ardian Çekic in prison, imposing a softer security measure, while the investigations continue.
The police operation codenamed “KRIPTOFARM”, identified two laboratories for the production of cryptocurrency and handcuffed three people and declared four others wanted, according to police, these citizens spent about 1 million euros to create this activity.
According to the authorities, one structure was set up in the village of Pjezë, Shijak, Durrës and the other structure in the village of Fllakë, Shijak, Durrës.
From the verifications and investigations carried out, it has resulted that these citizens, although they have not received a positive response from the Financial Supervision Authority for the establishment of this activity, have developed their activity which is in conflict with law no. 66/2020 “On financial markets based on distributed registry technology” as it does not meet any of the criteria set out in this law.
Police said that as material evidence were seized 631 pieces of electronic equipment for the production of cryptocurrencies, 630 pieces of solar panels, 360 pieces of electronic equipment for continuous power supply, 71 pieces of computer equipment for data processing, 71 pieces of computer equipment for temporary data storage, 71 pieces of external hard drives and 71 pieces of electronic devices for temperature stabilization.
Also, the investigative materials were sent to the Prosecution at the Court of First Instance of Durrës, for the continuation of further investigative actions.
