British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced that they have decided to lift the restrictions imposed to curb the spread of the Omicron variant of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
Johnson told parliament that citizens will not be told to work from home and that from January 27 the mandatory use of vaccination masks and passports will end.
Noting that they intend to remove the rule for the isolation of persons with COVID-19, Johnson said that when the relevant regulation ends on March 24, the legal obligation will be removed and this date can even be taken forward.
He said the reason for this decision is the drop in cases after they reached their peak. Johnson stressed that “it is time to trust the public judgment” on the use of masks indoors and in crowded places, and that there will be no obligation to keep masks in the classroom from tomorrow.
