A man in Mozambique has been brutally killed by beheading, according to the superstition that hairless people have gold inside their head, wrote the British Metro.co.uk
An investigation has been launched into the serious crime scene, after the murder by criminals, who macabrely said they were looking to sell his head in Mali.
But according to the regional daily The South African the interested buyer was missing prior to the transaction.
The disillusioned killers had thrown their heads in Mali’s central city, Muandiwa.
This case is the first known of its kind.
And in fact according to speculation, it could be a new macabre trend where people kill for the gold that is believed to have on cherry heads.
The network BBC reported on such an African ritual attack in 2017, when at least five people were killed for their body parts.
It is believed that people get involved in such violence as tribal witches persuade them for gold superstitions but actually seek their heads off for their other purposes.
Mozambique police officer Afonso Dias said at the time: “The motives of the killers come from superstition and culture, the community believes that the Qeros people are rich.”
Organ killings are a problem in some parts of Africa, where people with albinism are more targeted, ie with whitened features, without skin color.
Communities across the continent use witches instead of doctors or to achieve wealth, fertility, power or other desires, and often body parts are required in rituals.
