On the 31st anniversary of the establishment of the Democratic Party branch in Lezha, former Prime Minister Sali Berisha this Saturday declared that Albania is the only former communist country where a man who has usurped all power, thinks he can hold hostage even pluralism in Albania.
In his speech before the democrats of Lezha, Berisha said that young people, boys and girls, have left Albania, and even according to him, the region of Shkodra occupies the first place for the departure of its population at a young age.

Former Prime Minister Berisha accused the Rama government of massive corruption, stating that for only one kilometer of road realized by him has cost eight times more than the construction of one kilometer of road realized with the money of banks.
“If this money were taken from the banks, their theft would be impossible“, Said Berisha.
He said that Albanians find it very difficult today to imagine their government spending 8.2 billion euros in 8 years and everywhere you look in this country, work will be noticed, so much so that a normal government would only realize in 6 months.
“He is the only enemy of your being. He arrests people every day who are unable to pay their bills. Even during the dictatorship, the state paid them. Albania is the only country in the world that arrests citizens for civil cases“, Said Berisha.
As tradition requires, former Prime Minister Berisha began his speech on this 31st anniversary with a big thank you to all those men and women, young and old of this political force who for three decades remained loyal to the Party Democratic. He underlined in particular that today he bows with deep respect to those, men and women, who 31 years ago founded here the PD branch, as a force of freedom and national interest.
“The roots of the past are necessary to be known, to be honored so that the future is what we want. We are a party of tradition and we do not give up our tradition, we respect it. So we are really a conservative party. We honor our roots and our history because we want to project our best future“, Said the former prime minister.
He further showed that the beginnings of this branch were not as easy as for the PD of Lezha and all of Albania.
“At that time in many meetings the efforts of the dictatorship in Lezha were so numerous and just as great were its failures to manipulate the men and women of Lezha, on their way to freedom“, Said Berisha.
