Another match postponed to the Premier League. The pandemic continues to be present on the island and at the weekend the English championship will play the 22nd week, but the Burnley-Leicester City challenge will not take place because the locals have asked the Federation to postpone the meeting.
The English Football Federation after considering the situation of Burnley has accepted their request to postpone the challenge scheduled to be played on Saturday at 16:00, becoming the 20th match in this edition that is postponed due to COVID -19.
The Premier League rules have changed recently regarding the pandemic and for a team to enter the activity it must have 13 players and a goalkeeper available.
Burnley had previously postponed matches against Watford, Aston Villa and Everton in December due to Covid-19 cases between opposing teams, while the match against Watford is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, January 18, but and this may now be in doubt. In the FA CUP, Burnley were eliminated by Huddersfield after not having a good part of the team available including coach Sean Dyche and as if that situation was not enough they also lost the services of striker Chris Wood, who was transferred to Newcastle.
As for the postponed matches so far in the Premier League they have created a real chaos as now even those scheduled matches have to be reviewed because the pandemic continues to be present and yet the championship is not complete and final.
