The Albanian government entrusts the increase of the security of digital systems to the American company “Jones International”.
James Logan Jones Jr., a former four-star General of the United States Navy Corps, and a former White House National Security Adviser, along with Minister Belinda Balluku, signed the agreement.
Prime Minister Edi Rama called the finalization of this agreement a privilege.
“This is not a simple matter to build a series of security systems, but to build a comprehensive security system, which in turn has the opportunity to provide added value for NATO. We greatly appreciate this opportunity to work with you to address the great challenge of setting up a National Cyber Defense Center, which will be in the service of our army and in the service of all aspects related to the part civil society “, said Rama.
General Jones promised that, the success that will be achieved will be, not only transformative in many ways, but will also bring a degree of security.
“There are clear and very obvious dangers for our countries in this regard and I want to congratulate the Prime Minister for his vision, for the ambition to transform his country into a country in a much safer position. “The work we will do together will be an example for other countries in the North Atlantic Organization, countries that are friendly,” said Jones.
This agreement comes at a time when the payroll records of over 600,000 Albanians were stolen from the system and sold by tax officials who, along with their buyers, have been arrested and are facing justice.
