Bejtja was wounded in the arm with a firearm. From the shooting, he lost control of the vehicle and went off the road, where as a result, Klodian Stafuka, who was a passenger in the car, was injured.
Gentjan Bejtja is a well-known name for the Albanian police and justice. Bejtja was the person who together with Enver Stafuka stole the car used in the murder of Chief Commissioner Dritan Lamaj in 2013. They were arrested on suspicion of stealing the BMW car used in the murder of Chief Commissioner Lamaj.
Meanwhile, we recall that in September 2016, a tritol assassination attempt was organized against him. Bejtja was traveling with his car type “Tuareg”, with license plate “AA 020 BH”, in the village of Nikël in Kruja, when from below the vehicle exploded the explosive that severely damaged his leg.
He managed to escape the assassination due to the small amount of explosives placed, which investigators later described as a warning.
