The Omicron variant of the coronavirus has different symptoms from Delta. Health experts from the Centers for Disease Control in the United States indicate that the symptoms of the Omicron variant show a pale, gray or blue tinge to the nails, lips, and skin.
They think that pale skin, nails and lips may indicate a low level of oxygen.
Other symptoms include back pain, hoarseness, night sweats, muscle aches and runny nose. Doctors say that each of these symptoms is a sign that forces every person to consult a doctor.
Although the Omicron variant is thought to spread faster than other previously known coronavirus variants, studies have shown that it is milder than other types.
At least so think researchers given previous reports in the UK that showed a 50 to 70 per cent risk for hospitalizations. This percentage is lower than that of the Delta type.
The WHO also said that the Omicron variant does not appear to cause serious illness compared to the Delta variant, but should not be categorized as “mild”.
Janet Diaz confirmed that early studies show that Omicron is less likely to hospitalize people. According to her, the lowest risk is observed in both young and older people.
The WHO has registered 9.5 million new cases worldwide, marking a 71 percent increase from week to week.
The exact number of infected is thought to be much higher, as many regions are not testing enough people, and reports are incomplete.
