A woman in Alaska was shocked when she found an abandoned baby in the cold. The newborn was in a cardboard box, wrapped in a blanket and next to it was a letter from the desperate mother who left it, which said she could not afford to raise it.
The baby was found at 2 p.m. of January 1, 2022, at temperature -12 degrees. Roxi Lane Fairbanks resident, found out she heard the baby crying and then posted a video on social media.
The letter read: “The please help me! I was born today on December 31, 2021 at 6 p.m. I was born 12 weeks premature. My mother gave birth to me at 28 weeks. My parents and grandparents have no food and no money to raise me. They never wanted to do that to me. My mother is sad that she left me. Please take me and find me a family. My name is Teshawn . ”
The baby was taken to a local hospital where it was found to be in good health. Lane in her post she wrote that she had found the child in a cardboard box near the mailboxes near the house. He assumed the baby’s parents were small and did not know they could leave the baby at a local hospital, church or police station.
The woman asked anyone who knew the mother to contact her, as she may need medical care herself.
“Clearly, someone in our community felt so lost and desperate that he made perhaps the most difficult choice of his life, leaving this innocent roadside life with nothing but a few blankets and a name, He wrote in the post.
