The website of the Israeli newspaper “Jerusalem Post” in the first hours of this Monday has been hacked, putting on the front an image that represents, according to many interpretations, an Iranian attack on a nuclear laboratory.
This cyber attack marked the second anniversary of the assassination of Iranian General Qassem Suleimani, who was considered one of the most powerful and popular people in the entire Middle East.
Suleiman was killed in a U.S. military strike, but in late December, the former Israeli military intelligence chief acknowledged Israel’s involvement in the assassination attempt.
The image displayed on the front of the newspaper shows a ballistic missile fired from above, from the stone of a ring placed in a hand-folded fist (the ring is very similar to what Suleiman always carried) and the rocket is launched over a building thought to be to be the Israeli Nuclear Research Center, south of Dimona.
The cyber attack has not yet been taken over by any group and shortly afterwards the Jerusalem Post managed to take control of the site.

The year 2020 started with the news of the assassination of a senior Iranian general, Qasem Soleimani.
This event marked a culmination of the US-Iran conflict. Trump did not hesitate to call his assassination a great victory, as he was one of the “fiercest anti-Americans.”
The White House said Soleimani’s plans were to “blow up the US Embassy in Baghdad.”
After two months of long-distance retorts, the US imposed new sanctions on Iran.
Primarily, the aim was to halt Iran’s economic growth. The oil and chemical industries were hit hardest. Diplomatic isolation of Iran was also demanded.
A series of other sanctions targeted the Interior Minister and senior law enforcement officials on the grounds that they had grossly violated human rights.
