Increased patrols in motion, equipped with cameras, radars, alcohol testers, drones and cameras, to detect and punish those drivers who make speed races, drifts, wrong overtaking or block the free movement of vehicles by parking in pairs roads, as well as those drivers who drive under the influence of alcohol, in a state of intoxication or without a driving license.
During the last days of the year, the Tirana Traffic Police Commissariat has shown increased attention to traffic management and the detection of serious violations of traffic rules.
• As a result of controls and monitoring by means of modern technology, 6 drivers were identified and arrested, for drunk driving and 3 others, for driving without a driving license.
• 8 drivers were fined with an administrative measure of 20,000 ALL each, drifting on the New Boulevard, on the “Migjeni” Boulevard and on the “Mother Teresa” Square.
• 10 drivers were identified, followed and apprehended by the Traffic Police services, making speed races in the New Ring Road, in the segment Dry Lake-TEG and on the interurban road Tirana-Durrës, who were punished with administrative measures by 40,000 new lek each.
• 24 drivers were fined with 30,000 ALL each for traffic light violations.
• They were fined with 7,000 to 10,000 new lek and with the suspension of the driving license for 6 months each, 14 drivers, for keeping children in the first place or worse still, at the wheel.
• 8 luxury vehicles were blocked due to lack of documentation.
• 30 driving licenses have been suspended, for speeding and driving under the influence of alcohol.
• 123 administrative measures have been imposed, for wrong overtaking and parking on the sidewalk or in white lines.
Tirana Traffic Police, based on the large flow of vehicles in the direction of Tirana, through all connecting roads, but also from the flow of vehicles towards the center, requires the understanding of drivers, to avoid movements to the maximum unnecessary, mainly those towards the center. It also requires the understanding of drivers coming from other counties, to use public transport within the capital and not to use private vehicles in the center or on the inner streets of the capital.
Tirana Traffic Police congratulates all citizens, happy new year and invites them to report to the toll free number 112 and the Digital Commissariat, any violation of the Road Code, to contribute to increasing the parameters of road life safety.
