The head of the SP parliamentary group, Taulant Balla, when asked if the majority has a name ready for the new president of the country, said that everything will be done according to the Constitution.
Balla said that the SP has expressed its opinion regarding President Ilir Meta, who was dismissed from this position earlier by the Assembly for violating the Constitution, and is now awaiting the decision of the Constitutional Court.
Ball: I can not answer you today. We will respect any decision of the Constitutional Court and will not make any comments until it has said so. Our position on this matter has been clear, Mr. Meta has violated the constitution, but now we can not comment anymore because it does not do well the reasoning of the Constitutional Court, and it must express itself by mid-February on this matter.
As for the end of the mandate, the assembly starts working on the new name in April. In case we have premature terminations of the presidential mandate, the constitution clearly shows who takes those duties.
