The Youth Palace in Pristina was engulfed in flames this Sunday morning.
The cause is suspected to have been an electrical spark.
Behar Shala, the leader of the fire brigade, said the fire could have escalated and caused more damage if it had not been extinguished.
“It really was a panic in that sense, we could not have guessed what it would have been if it had caught a large fire, but I had to ask for help, maybe from other municipalities as well… God willing, we caught fire in the initial phase and we located it and turned it off without any problems, without any injuries to people. “I can not say that the damages are very small because it was a complete part of the electricity, something so it remains to be seen the people who are competent for this work,” he said.
One person was injured in the blaze, who received treatment in the hospital, while the investigation continues to clarify the causes of the incident.
