For almost 10 years teachers have not been rewarded at the end of the year.
Despite the Independent Education Union’s constant demands to the government, it seems that teachers will not celebrate with more money in hand. Especially during the pandemic period where teaching conditions changed, according to education experts, reward should not be discussed.
Nevrus Kaptelli: We expected this year the government to be a little more generous in rewarding by showing respect and appreciation for teachers where teachers provided the tools themselves for distance learning, adapted and risked their lives.
According to the decision of the council of ministers, the only ones who will be rewarded for the holidays, where the amount of remuneration will not exceed the monthly salary, will be for the employees of the state police and justice institutions. According to the education union this creates discrimination.
The first to be rewarded are the teachers because they have taught anyone who enjoys a good position today. The government has and a week is still in time: to think about teachers.
