We signed a cooperation agreement in the field of veterinary medicine, food safety and phytosanitary, in the framework of the “Open Balkans” initiative, between the countries of the Western Balkans.
For the first time, exports are opened for livestock products, including live animals, on the basis of reciprocity. Health and phytosanitary veterinary certificates are recognized for the first time. Accredited and authorized laboratories are also recognized, removing an additional cost for the business, shortening the stay time at border crossings. Thus, stops at border checkpoints are avoided by checking at the customs nearest to the destination countries. The agreement also means the exchange of information in real time.
In 2022 we have projected the largest support budget, amounting to 7.1 billion. The goal is to increase the productivity and competitiveness of Albanian farmers, so that they enter not only the market, but also regional markets., said Minister Krifca.
