The court left in prison today the former chief of crimes against narcotics in the directorate of Vlora District, Gjergji Kohila.
Kohila surrendered to the Tirana police on December 15th. He has been wanted by the judiciary for more than three years, for involvement in the ‘Habilaj’ drug trafficking gang. He was found guilty in absentia from the first instance and sentenced to 8 years in prison after taking advantage of the reduced summary sentence.
The charges for which the former head of the organized crime department of the Vlora police was found guilty are related to drug trafficking in cooperation in the form of a criminal group for which he received 12 years in prison.
As for the criminal group, the former official Kohila was found guilty and received another two years in prison, but as Judge Artan Gjermeni stated in the application for summary judgment, he gains a third of the reduced sentence.
Kohila’s name is in the same file as “Habilajt”, and along with him is Sokol Bode, another former police officer who continues to be on the run, but whose case was separated after he requested an ordinary trial. .
As it is learned from the sources, it is suspected that Jaeld Çela, Gjergj Kohila and Sokol Bode have favored criminal groups to cultivate cannabis sativa during the years 2015-2016 in the villages of Vlora.
