About 100 passengers with Kosovo passports have not been allowed to travel to Italy, announced the spokesperson of Prishtina International Airport “Adem Jashari”, Valentina Gara.
She told Radio Free Europe that these citizens have been detained due to new bans by the Italian government, such as protection measures by COVID-19.
“We constantly ask travelers to refer to the latest rules of the country they are traveling to before traveling. Passengers who today (December 17) are not allowed to register at the counter, is due to new bans of the Italian state, which are also published on the official website of the Italian Embassy in Kosovo “, said Gara through a response writing.
The race added that passengers should send any of their complaints to the airline with which they had planned the trip.
Citizens of Kosovo, from January next year, may not be allowed to travel to European Union countries, as the bloc does not yet recognize the coronavirus vaccination certificates issued in Kosovo.
Kosovo, along with Bosnia and Herzegovina, remain the only two countries in the Western Balkans to which the EU does not recognize vaccination certificates./REL/
