In parallel with the Assembly convened by Lulzim Basha, the Democrats have been invited by Sali Berisha to a Referendum to seal the dismissal of the President.
106 polling stations have been set up in the 71 branches of the party, where only for the capital there will be 22 such. To avoid any incident, the blue headquarters will not be a polling station, while Sali Berisha will vote in an environment near the US Embassy.
“Given that the PD headquarters is occupied by armed people to avoid any provocation or incident, we have decided that the National Council and branch 2 this time will not vote at the headquarters but in the premises of Bar America, next to the US Embassy , Mr. Berisha will also vote there“, Says Belind Këlliçi.
Some branches of the Democratic Party have closed their doors, as they do not recognize Sali Berisha’s referendum.
“There is a problem with the leaders that Mr. Basha has given the order to change the locks, this situation is resolved where the locks are closed there will be adjacent premises where we will have the secretary of the branch or the vice president of the branch. Basha does not understand that he does not stop the referendum with a stamp or a lock, this is a majority issue. We do not care about the incident and the conflict that we have the majority“, Says Këlliçi.
Belind Këlliçi, member of the commission for re-establishment of the Democratic Party explains that the polling stations will remain open until 17:00, while they will be counted in real time at the polling stations and the result will be forwarded to the election commission in Tirana. The referendum will be followed by a national protest.
