The United States has approved the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine, becoming the third vaccine to be approved in the country.
The vaccine will be another alternative between the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines and does not need to be kept at temperatures as low as Pfizer.
The tests performed showed that the vaccine has good abilities in curing the disease, but in the overall result it is 66% effective including moderate cases.
The Johnson & Johnson vaccine is manufactured by the Belgian firm, Janssen. The company has agreed to provide 100 million doses to the US by the end of June. The first doses will be available in the US as early as next week.
