Based on the interpretations made in the media, regarding the order of the prosecutors of the Special Prosecution Against Corruption and Organized Crime, dated 14.06.2022 “On maintaining secrecy, prohibiting the publication of acts and their content” we clarify that;
This order was communicated on 16.06.2022 to the journalist EQ, against the signature for information, after the journalist published some secret data, which went beyond the court decision with the object of imposing personal security measures “arrest in prison”, in framework of criminal proceedings no.75 / 2022 and which in accordance with Article 295 / a / 4 of the Criminal Code constitute secret acts of criminal proceedings no.75 / 2022.
We clarify that the Special Prosecution against Corruption and Organized Crime has addressed this order to only one journalist and for the specific reason mentioned above.
The Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime is carrying out all necessary investigative actions to clarify the circumstances in which the secret investigative information was transmitted to the persons who subsequently published it, in order to bring to justice the person / persons who has / have revealed the investigative secret.
We understand the interest of the media in informing the public, but this interest can not and should not affect the ongoing investigation or the public or individual safety of the persons whose names were mentioned during the ongoing investigation.
