A young man has gruesomely fallen to his death while trying to grab Apple AirPods that accidentally fell out of a window.
The 26-year-old was found unconscious on the street in Sai Wan, Hong Kongwith serious head injuries on Tuesday morning.
Passersby saw the man hit the ground and called emergency services.
According to local reports, the construction worker was married and had accidentally dropped his headphones on the railing outside the apartment window.
He had been playing video games in the apartment he shared with his brother and was trying to get his wireless headphones.
But tragically he fell from a fifth floor window late at night while trying to reach the railing where his headphones had fallen.
Witnesses believed that the man had originally wanted to commit suicide by jumping out of the window.
And ironically, the man had spoken to passers-by to assure them that he “didn’t want to jump”, but a little later that was exactly what had happened.
The victim’s wife and child are reported to be living in China.
Local media said investigations indicated the man had accidentally fallen from the window, but an autopsy has not yet been performed.
