Twenty-five million tonnes of Ukrainian grain to be exported have been blocked because the Black Sea ports have been closed, says the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations.
“It’s an almost grotesque situation we see in Ukraine at the moment.”said Josef Schmidhuber, deputy director of the organization at a press conference in Geneva.
“There are about 25 million tons of grain that can be exported, but that can not leave the country simply due to lack of infrastructure, blockade of ports.”.
