The lands planted with strawberries, which were flooded by the rains of December 12 are still under the power of mud.
62 farmers gathered this Tuesday in front of the municipality of Fier, where they met the mayor. They say over 30 hectares of greenhouses have been damaged and the cost is high.
At the meeting with the mayor, the farmers were represented by the head of the farmers’ union Eduard Sharka, who said that more than 20 days have passed since the flood and no damage verification commission has contacted them:
“He told us very soon, but we will come here again and ask for the right given to us by the law. The mayor also pledged for the bridge, which is the main obstacle “.
For many farmers this was the first season of growing strawberries. They seek damages.
Farmers in Kafaraj, Ade, Cerven continue to have greenhouses planted under the mud, while lower temperatures are further affecting the drying of plants. Farmers warn that if there is no solution, they will protest again.
