A murderous teenager who tortured to death a doctor father of two children, attempted to appear innocent in interrogation by loosely wrapping himself in a blanket.
17-year-old Dionne Timms-Williams, answered “no comment” to the questions of the officers.
Hours earlier, she and two other killers were seen laughing as they beat to death 54-year-old Dr Gary Jenkins in a park in Cardiff, Wales.
Edwards, Timms-Williams, and Lee Strickland were found guilty yesterday of killing Dr. Jenkins.
Footage recorded at the Timms-Williams police station shows him biting his lip and refusing to answer investigators’ questions, without showing any emotion.
She later issued a statement saying she was forced to join the attack after being intimidated by the other two defendants.
The girl lived with her mother Lisa Timms, 43, in the village of Creigiau, near Cardiff.
But in court she was told that she had gone out with two friends “to find someone to rape and rob” in the late hours of July 20 last year.
Timms-Williams was recorded saying to her friends before the attack: “If we are going to stay in this damn park, at least steal something.”
In court it was said that Timms-Williams laughed contentedly as he punched and kicked Dr. Jenkins.
And when Dr. Jenkins was bleeding to the ground, she was heard to say, “Well, I needed that.”
Prosecutor Dafydd Enoch described the teenager as “a very upset young girl”.
He added: “We urge you not to make the mistake of thinking that the 16-year-old was involved in something that was not her fault.”
“She was completely herself, laughing and having fun during the attack, it was torture.”
The victim Dr Jenkins was bisexual, and friends and colleagues knew he was going out in the park late to engage in consensual sexual activity with other men.
The prosecution said the attack on Dr Jenkins “was motivated by greed, homophobia and a tendency towards violence. “The three accused were looking for homosexuals in the park to rob them.”
The sentence for the trio will be given soon.
