At least three people were killed after thirteen Russian missiles hit a military airfield and railway infrastructure in Ukraine’s central Kirohovrad region early on July 23, the regional governor said.
“Nine Ukrainian servicemen were injured and one serviceman died. First, two guards of an electrical substation were killed.”said Andriy Raikovych, head of the Regional Military Administration.
The provincial capital, Kropyvnytskyi, was targeted by eight Kalibr cruise missiles launched from the sea and five long-range Kh-22 missiles fired from the aircraft, Raikovych wrote on the Telegram messaging app.
A neighborhood has been left without electricity. Radio Free Europe writes that rescue workers were working in the affected areas, the official added.
Fierce fighting has taken place in the past 48 hours in southern Kherson province, where Ukrainian troops continued their offensive against Russian forces, British military intelligence said on July 23.
“The supply lines of Russian forces west of the river are increasingly at risk,” the UK Ministry of Defense said.
