The citizens of Kosovo, due to the aggravated economic situation, are seeing leaving the country as a solution.
An easier way currently for them is to obtain a work visa to Germany. Among these citizens is Bekim Karaxha, who left Kosovo about six months ago.
Bekim Karaxha: Not so good conditions, not so good salary and I left for a better future for the kids.
Karaxha this Tuesday at the German Embassy in Pristina is sending application documents for his nephew.
Bekim Karaxha: He completes his education here and still has to work as a waiter or driver.
According to the data of the German Embassy for the last two months, there are about 100 thousand citizens who have applied for the reservation of an appointment for applying for a work visa.
The mass exodus of labor has left the construction sector in short supply.
Faton Hoxha: We as builders have to make choices. They are coming here from Albania to work.
Citizens are also using vocational training from the Employment Agency to prepare for the international market.
Salvation Kalludra: Last year we had 3150 people who are equipped with certificates, they just took a profession. These certificates serve you not only in the local market but also internationally.
By the end of 2021, 82 thousand citizens have been registered as unemployed in the Employment Agency.
