10 thousand farmers have applied so far to benefit from halving the price of fuel. For the political leader of the Socialist Party for the Tirana Region, Erion Veliaj, who held a meeting with the farmers of the Rrogozhina area, this shows great interest and that the government’s decision was right.
He shared with the farmers of Rrogozhina another proposal, that the municipalities of Tirana, Vora, Rrogozhina, Kavaja and Kamza cooperate with each other to come to the aid of the agricultural sector.
“My proposal is that Rrogozhina and the other 4 municipalities of the Tirana region, make an agreement and each of us with our own means, to take them where needed. We as a municipality, who have excavators, can bring them to serve here. Prepare a framework agreement, where we say, this is a common fleet, and the fleet goes where it needs to. “If Tirana has little need and its tools are cheap, we can take all the tools to where they are produced”, Veliaj explained to the farmers.
From January 1 this year, the Government abolished the excise tax, turnover tax and carbon tax for agricultural products, halving the price of fuel for farmers. Through this scheme, each farmer who works the land, is calculated the amount of oil he needs for the declared area. For that amount of oil is calculated the value of the fiscal burden, which will be excluded and converted into the amount of oil, which will be given free of charge through a separate card for each farmer.
